A unique masterpiece in the world, the Bayeux Tapestry is actually an embroidery made from wool on linen canvas during the 11th century. 70m long and 50cm high, it recounts, simply but with a wealth of detail, how and why Willliam the Conqueror conquered England on 14 October 1066. Unaccompanied visite to the exhibition and audiovisual rooms and Tapestry visit with earphone (11 languages simultaneously).

Visit lasts : from 1 to 2 hours.
Open all year round except the second week in January, Monday to Friday and from 24/12 afternoon to 26/12 morning, 31/12 afternoon to 2/01 morning.
Adults : 7,50 € School children (+10 years) and students : 3 €
Earphone included.
Opening hours :
13/03-2/11 : 9 h-18h30 (until 7pm from May to August)
3/11-12/03 : 9h30-12h30/14 h-18 h

 

The Old Town tour takes you round the medieval town area in your own time, to explore its secrets with 21 notice boards to help you along the 2,5km circuit.
